This 21'x27' single story cabin was actually built as a bank barn with only one 8 ft. doorway. As the farm's production grew so did the barn with an addition added to each end. Although these additions are not log they are included in the package and can be used to make beautiful flooring, ceiling boards ,paneling and porches for the rest of the project. With only one opening in the walls this barn is much easier to convert into a custom floor plan than those that served as homes. The rusty steel roof may not look good but it provides much better protection than shingles and is a good sign that the logs are in good condition. A bank barn usually had livestock in the lower level and with two additions it means there is 1500 sf of flooring in this barn. These large logs have small logs placed between them to cut down on the chinking needed.
Seven foot walls can be added to by using the log floor joists as wall logs. The log floor joists would be a great way to extend the wall height or make log repairs.
