This hybrid home was designed using two vintage log cabins and a mortise and tenon timber frame granary. It combines log, timber framing, SIP panels and conventional framing into a seamless design that appears to have been built a century ago. The owner in California communicated his vision in the first meeting and the design team carried it out using cad drawings, digital photos and the internet. It was pre-assembled in a warehouse during the winter before it was to be built and the shell was erected the following spring.
