Bush Cabin For Sale

The Bush Cabin was restored several years ago for a customer near Forest City, Iowa who has decided to sell it instead of erecting it. It was made from two cabins from Iowa that the owner provided and one from Minnesota that I used to join the two together and make repairs. The logs are oak and other native hardwoods and all have been cleaned, treated and stored inside since the restoration was completed five years ago.

The main floor has 562 s.f. of space devoted to the living room, dining room and kitchen. The second floor sleeping loft has 367 s.f. in a 15’ x 24’ space which could be divided into two bedrooms. For a main floor master bedroom one of the porches off the living room could be changed to become a timber framed bedroom addition.

The shell package includes all the restored logs and framing materials to erect this cabin on a heated slab foundation according to the current plans. In addition to this I personally will guide you through the log portion of the project to get you off to a good start during the first week. Contact me for a price.

Open cabin visitors admire log restoration progress in the warehouse. Unless built by the same person it is virtually impossible to join two log buildings together. This over view shows how 6x6 corner posts are used to joint several different cabins together. This is the living room area without the loft floor installed.
The large opening in this wall was designed for a fireplace. It could also be used for a patio door or doorway to a room addition. With new 3-D CAD programs it is now possible to see what the finished cabin will look like when completed.
